Jonathon Hanks
A leading figure in the development of ISO26000 as convenor of the Drafting Team, Jonathon Hanks hails from Cape Town where he works with leading South African companies on sustainability. He was instrumental in bringing the Carbon Disclosure Project to South Africa and is a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business. Jonathon is also a Senior Associate of the University of Cambridge’s Programme for Industry and a Faculty member of the leading think tank, SustainAbility. He will introduce conference participants to ISO 26000 and explain its background, scope and application.
Dr Alan Finkel
Our pre-lunch keynote speaker is leading engineer, entrepreneur, philanthropist and Chief Technology Officer for Better Place, Dr Alan Finkel. The Hon. Jason Clare MP
A former executive at Transurban, one of Australia’s top 100 companies, The Hon. Jason Clare MP was elected Member for Blaxland at the last Federal election and appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Employment in 2009. Described in The Australian as a “future talent” in Labor’s Ministerial Cabinet, he is an inspiring fair work advocate.
Elana Rubin
Elana Rubin, Chair of the Victorian WorkCover Authority and non-executive Chair of Australian Super’s Trustee board, has an impressive and diverse portfolio. Elana Rubin has always had a strong interest in social equity, which underpins her commitment to the ‘social mission’ that helps drive her various roles.
Bruce Harvey
Bruce has worked for the mining giant Rio Tinto for over 28 years, as an exploration geologist and in community focused roles for the last eight years. In his role Global Practice Leader, Communities, Bruce is committed to improving economic conditions in remote communities. Rio Tinto is one of the largest employers of Indigenous peoples in Australia. Bruce Harvey will speak about Rio Tinto’s five-year sustainable communities targets, illustrating best practice from his experience.
Dr Kate Auty
Appointed as Victoria’s Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability in 2009, Dr Kate Auty has been dubbed “Victoria’s environmental watchdog”, tasked with auditing the State Government’s ecological performance.
